1
Why this page exists

NBNL is run by a single person who writes, publishes and builds the platform at the same time. Roles that larger companies keep apart therefore coincide here. This page names the commercial relationships that arise from that and from our editorial work — permanently and in one place, instead of scattered across individual articles.

Nothing is denied in blanket terms here. Where a relationship exists, it is listed below with provider, period and type — even where it does not touch the content in question. Where nothing is listed, no such relationship is documented in our records; that is a statement about our records and not a guarantee.
2
Author, publisher, trade mark and platform in one hand

Tobias Kurig is the author of the NBNL books and at the same time their publisher and rights holder, proprietor of the NBNL trade mark (DPMA 3020211078195) and operator of this platform.

This is the conflict of interest that affects every reader: Part III of the books presents NBNL.net and therefore describes our own product. It is not an independent market review and not a comparison with other providers.

In the books themselves this note appears immediately below the heading of Part III; the imprint of the books names author, publisher, copyright and trade mark together.
3
Press loan motorcycles from manufacturers

For editorial reports we ask manufacturers for loan motorcycles on the usual press terms: free use for a few days, returned afterwards. For the report “Abschlussfahrt 2026” — publication planned for October 2026 — eight requests went out on 11 and 12 August 2026. This is where they stand:

  • Ducati — Multistrada V4 S: granted on 25 August 2026, accepted by us on 26 August 2026, handover in Neuburg an der Donau. This is the only loan that came about.
  • Triumph — Tiger 1200 Rally Pro: granted on 13 August 2026; we did not take up the date.
  • BMW and KTM: replied without a vehicle for this date; the talks are aimed at future cooperation.
  • VOGE, Hero and Zero: no response.

No money changed hands, and no travel expenses, hospitality, sponsoring or discounts are documented. We disclose the loan at the report concerned.

There is no connection to the books: the loan concerns a report on this platform, and no riding impression from that trip appears in any edition of the books.
4
Commission links in the route planner

The route planner can carry booking links for which we receive a commission. Two fixed rules apply to them:

  • Such a link is visibly marked as an advertising link earning a commission and is flagged as paid for search engines.
  • Whether a provider is a partner has no influence on which places and routes are suggested.
As of 6 September 2026 no commission partner is active; the route planner currently shows no such links. As soon as a partner is activated, it will be added here with name and period.
5
Bike finder: no paid placements

No commercial attribute enters the scoring of the bike finder: there is no field for advertising partners, sponsors or commissions, and a position cannot be bought.

That does not make the order neutral, and it is not meant to be. It rests on our own editorial weightings — among them category, price, power, weight, seat height, brand and range. In the event of a tie the lower price decides. The selection comes from our curated stock, not from the whole market; and if too few motorcycles match, the bike finder relaxes individual criteria and states this in the result.

6
Printing and distribution of the books

The books are printed and shipped via Amazon Media EU S.à r.l. This is a pure service-provider relationship with no influence on the content; it is named in the imprint of the books.

7
Artificial intelligence in texts and images

Part of the content is created with the help of artificial intelligence — images and videos as well as individual texts, for example model descriptions in the catalogue.

Such content is labelled: images and videos visibly carry a note that they were created with AI, and AI-generated texts are identified as such (Art. 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 — EU AI Act).

Details on the use of AI are set out in the terms and conditions (section 8f) and in the privacy policy (section 11a).
8
What is not documented in our records

On the following points our records contain no agreements and no benefits received:

  • paid articles, advertorials or product placements in return for payment
  • sponsoring or printing cost subsidies from third parties for the books
  • hospitality, invitations or travel expenses connected with the books
  • holdings of manufacturers or dealers in the publishing operation
  • consideration for naming brands in the books — those mentions are editorial examples
If any of this changes, it belongs on this page before the content concerned is published.
