Somewhere else Together – around the world as a couple
Daniel Rintz and Josephine – 100.478 km, 1.140 days, 43 border crossings
The first film was already convincing: „Somewhere else Tomorrow" – Daniel Rintz alone on two wheels, without money, around the world. Now comes the second chapter with „Somewhere else Together". This time with his girlfriend Josephine. And a route that reinvents itself during the journey.
We do not travel to run away from life. We travel so that life does not run away from us. — Daniel Rintz
The route
The plan was Alaska to Tierra del Fuego – classic, ambitious, two years. But when travelling by motorcycle, plans are famously the first thing to go overboard. The couple spontaneously decides to leave the South American continent behind and return to Europe via Africa instead.
What follows is a route that has it all: extreme heat, war zones, endless deserts and breathtaking landscapes. From South Africa via Namibia and Angola to Morocco – through countries that very few motorcycle travellers dare to venture into.
In the end, there are 100.478 kilometres in 1.140 days and 43 border crossings.

On the road as a couple
The crucial difference from the first film: Josephine is there. This fundamentally changes the dynamics of a journey – and Rintz shows it honestly. Travelling as a couple means compromises, consideration and constant negotiation. But it also means not experiencing the most unforgettable moments alone.
The film focuses precisely on this human side of the journey: encounters, friendships, small adventures away from the main route. Anyone expecting a detailed route description will be disappointed in places. Anyone who wants to know what such a journey feels like – gets exactly that.
Conclusion
My impression: like its predecessor, „Somewhere else Together" is a very personal travelogue. The editing feels a little rough in some places, and the switch in language from German to English from the Africa section onwards can be irritating. But the wealth of anecdotes, encounters and genuine moments still makes the 114-minute film absolutely worth watching. For everyone who has ever thought about simply setting off – and has not stopped thinking about it. If you do not know it yet: watch the predecessor „Somewhere else Tomorrow" first, then this one.
